Wheelchair lifts make homes and buildings accessible and user-friendly at multiple life stages and settings.
The most common type of wheelchair lifts we offer are vertical platform lifts, or VPLs. Vertical platform lifts are a mobility solution that can transport a wheelchair or other mobility device vertically between levels. They are ADA compliant with both indoor and outdoor, weather-resistant models. VPLs are a great choice for churches, places of worship, schools, universities, commercial buildings, and homes.
Arrow Lift® has helped thousands of people regain independent access to their homes and make their buildings accessible to all, and we would love to help you do the same.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What type of lift is ADA compliant?
In general, Vertical Platform Lifts (VPLs) and LULA elevators are both considered ADA compliant. Both lift systems are large enough to transport riders in wheelchairs or scooters between floors. On the other hand, commercial stair lifts require any users in wheelchairs or scooters to transfer onto a chair before traveling between floors and are therefore not considered ADA compliant.
How much space does a VPL require?
The amount of space needed to install a VPL varies based on several factors. Commercial VPLs take up as little as 4.5 feet by 4.5 feet, and as much as 5 feet by 6 feet. These accessibility lift footprint dimensions are approximate and can vary based on type of lift, number of entrances and exits, platform size, and local code requirements.
Is a permit required for installing a wheelchair lift in my home?
Permits for installing a wheelchair lift in your home depend on your location, city or state. If a lift permit is required for your home, our sales representative will discuss this, and we will help you with the process.
